Tour Details

A tour of the Caldera Islands at low cost is the excursion that departs from the old port of Fira at 11.30 with a destination for the volcano which is only 10 minutes away from the Bay of Fira.

The climb up the volcano to meet its active craters is about 20 minutes by footpath. Your stay there is about 50 minutes, it is worth it to reach the top, dig among the black stones and see that it is still smoking and smelling strongly of sulfur.

After visiting Nea Kameni we continue to the island of Palaia Kameni where the Hot Springs are located. The ship anchors a few meters outside the small bay of Agios Nikolaos, lowers a ladder into the water and from there you can swim a distance of 30 meters to reach the famous mud baths of Palaia Kameni which are believed to have beneficial properties for the skin and other ailments. The water temperature is 30-35 degrees Celsius but it is constantly mixed with sea water. The boat stays here for about 30 minutes for swimming, it is enough time since there is no beach on the small island where you can stay for a while.

After the excursion, the ship departs for the island of Thirassia. You have about 2 hours of free time to swim in the crystal waters of the beach of Corfu or to eat in the traditional taverns with the local delicacies of the island. However, you can go up on foot or with the island’s donkeys to the village of Manolas, which is very picturesque with narrow cobblestones and a beautiful view of Santorini and is worth a visit.

After the two-hour pleasant break on the island of Thirasia, the return back to the old port begins, sailing close to the volcanic rocks of Oia to photograph the unique landscape. Your disembarkation will be at 17:15 at the picturesque old port of Fira.

The tour is available from June to September.
